October must be a favorite month.
First, college football is in full gear (See OU v Texas 12 noon on ABC!), the baseball playoffs keep us up late and pro football is in early form.
From a business perspective, many associations are conducting top flight meetings, making strategic plans and budgetting and making plans for a fourth quarter push.
