My Favorites List - The Best in Associations

I've always enjoyed lists..."the top ten." Maybe it's because I enjoy college football or David Letterman rankings or polls or lists are cool to debate. Here's a list of my association favorites:

Best association website: Lately, my consulting work has brought me to a number of association websites. Society of Human Resource Management (shrm.org) is a clear leader. The site integrates media, news, and key topic areas. Well done.

Best association meeting: The Chamber's Association Committee of 100. This exclusive, invitation only event is well-run, has excellent speakers and top notch entertainment. What makes it special, however, is the fact that the best association CEOs in the country are in the room. A great audience is an integral part of an outstanding event. (Author's note: I'm not objective on this one, I ran the meeting for almost nine years!)

Best trade show: Biotechnology Industry Organization has an excellent combination of innovation, programming and business networking. It's an amazing place for people to do business together. BIO provides a handy registration interface which enables you to set up meetings with people of similar interests.
